Duck isn't his real name (it's the duck's, though) but when people get something in their heads...
He's another of the dragon riders along Rita and Gore, but possibly the only one without a ridiculous metal armor.

Would that duck happen to be based on the afro duck? xD I like how their hairstyles match... That harness... thingy, or is it a sling? It makes me wonder if the duck is used as a weapon xD

Ha ha, yes it's based on the afro duck (the guy's hair too actually). Though a more moderate version of the lil' afro.
Well, it's some sort of duck cradle. The duck can't fly, so the sling can be attached to the dragon harness [link] and the dragon is actually the weapon, the duck is just a pet duck. Not that anyone wants an angry duck straight in their face.
