ANYWAY, I never talk about my stories that much anymore and point of this is that you can ask me either a broad question (i.e 'what is the meaning behind this picture?', 'who is your cruelest character?', 'what story is this character from?', 'what is the worst/best thing that happens in your story?' ) or a specific question/request ('where does ___ come from?', 'why is ___ like that?' ) and I will answer you. Or you can ask meta- questions like 'what was the inspiration for creating ____?'

Or what inspires you to create them the most?

"...I wouldnt necessarily consider a gap in logic within the mind of a psychotic serial killer a plot hole. Thats like critiquing the grammar of someone who writes on the walls in an insane asylum."
But if I have to name one specific thing that usually works as an inspiration with stories, it's Hellboy. Oh yeah.
Most of my characters and stories have (sadly) really blatant copy origins which I twist and change as much as I can or realize but still trying to keep the things that I like in the original (which is why I generally feel akward when people call me original).

Holyfuck I actually know what you're talking about. Because...someone has to.
Another artist told me the same. They'll see other things around them, occasionally take what aspects they like and alter or omit what they don't. Or...something.

Yeah, I guess it is pretty much the normal thing to do. Not to mention you really can't avoid influences so the best you can do is realize when you're having them and do your best on adding your own spin in them.
Which also makes my laugh with people trying to "copyright" some silly blatant and overused aspects of their characters and bitching when people accidentally invent the same.

I would definitely agree influences are a major driving force in the creative world. But it's also cool when sometimes creation can be magically birth from some very random things. Or a prolonged series of thought processes. But we'd kinda have to admit that can take a while at times. But both ways can be fun.
Pssshh...copyright. All those useless "wars" over said overused aspects are just serving as fodder for ED articles. I've seen so many people (hell, even thuper "talented/popular" artists) try to copyright ultra-colored wolves with wings, fire, chains, elements, etc. alone that someone could seriously make some damn money off of "copyright."
Fuuuunnn tiimes.

Not to mention that since evrything is done and nothing is original anymore, there is going to be that one guy saying "hay that reminds me of 'insert title here'".
And you know what's especially funny to me over these copyright wars? The fact that you can't really copyright a character! The only option for anyone without Disney's corporate power is to trademark, but people seem to think that copyright somehow magically fixes everything and they don't change their opinion no matter what sources you cite.

Who's your favorite charater of yours?

Hooplah!
I do have plans to re-draw/design some of my really old monster characters, but we'll see when I get to that!
My most emotionally closest character is Dead Girl who originally was created to be an alter ego/self insert, so I like her like I like myself, but a close second would be Regia, oh yes.
